Cycling power restores video. Keeping the screen open to a wide angle yields the best display. I've checked the video cable harness and did not see a loose connection.
My suspicion is that the cable has become internally frayed or otherwise damaged at the point where it snakes through the screen hinge. The cable is certainly compressed by the hinge, but no there is no obvious damage. It looks like the cable basically connects to the inverter on one end and the LCD on the other end.
You need to basically take the LCD assembly apart and inspect, reseat and put all back together. The link for the guide:. I would also check the inverter, if it's a LCD screen. It's very likely that you have a damaged ribbon cable, but once I had the same issue with a defective inverter, which died few days after the first symptoms. Unfortunately, the video cables on the newer, thinner, laptops are very fragile and unless you have exercised great care when unplugging it you run the risk of damaging them.
Guessing whether it is the cable or the screen by pushing or squeezing the parts is a very inexact science. You could get the faults you have illustrated by either of the parts or indeed the actual connector between them. Likely culprit.
I would recommend re-seating the cable as your first step. If that doesn't work, look for the part on the display cable and purchase a replacement. Shouldn't be too expensive.
If the screen flickers when you move it then its likely the internal video cable or the LCD inverter. One or both can demonstrate the symptoms you describe.
Yes, the cable is the most likely culprit, but nobody has given the obvious, simple, best answer BH Telecom is an IT service provider.
If laptop has LED screen sometimes pressure on bottom part of screen and electronic cable contact can cause the problem. In my case heating contact with soldering iron and fine adjusting helped, but only for 2 weeks. If you can connect the laptop to a monitor through the video port and the issue does NOT repeat itself then the issue will be between cable or screen. If you have another laptop you can test the screen with a known good.
If not then I would bet on replacing the cable, or the LCD screen. Dear Doug Domeny, If you suspect software, for whatever reason, you can turn on the computer and enter the BIOS to see if you can duplicate the problem there.
